''Christine is my dear friend and editor. She has been editing my monthly ‘Thoughts From Therapy’ column for my website
www.reikitalk.org.uk for the past two years with great effect.
In that time, she has developed an excellent system for critiquing my work, with large coloured comment bubbles at the side of the page that are easy to read, follow and delete (absolutely essential for me as a Dyslexic).
More recently, Christine has edited my first book on Reiki. Spiritual healing is not a concept she is totally familiar with, yet she has kept pace with me, guided me and been instrumental in empowering me to make it happen. My own opinion of myself is that I started out as a poor writer with something interesting to say. Now I am an accomplished writer with focus, I make concise points in an easy-to-read format, and am truly proud of my work.
I love to write, yet had shunned it as a form of communication for many years due to lack of confidence and painful school grades. Christine’s gentle style has allowed me to learn as I go without feeling a failure. Her eternal optimism over my thoughts in ink, have caused me to explore words in a way I have found deeply joyful and satisfying.
My style has changed dramatically in two years, I have felt myself grow. I know longer feel the trepidation of a fledgling. Now I fly high on whatever current of words takes my fancy. I know my nest is still a scruffy build of abandoned punctuation, yet I can live with that happy in the knowledge that I am still learning. It seems to me that Christine never tires of carefully explaining how punctuation works. Her comment bubbles often have carefully explained grammar etiquette, some of which I do remember.
I recommend Christine to anyone wishing to journey with words, you will have a fantastic voyage.
